This is the summer of Texas 4000! Texas 4000 is a non-profit student organization from the University of Texas that is dedicated to fighting cancer by sharing hope, knowledge, and charity across North America through a 4,500 mile bicycle ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska. I will be spending 70 days with 45 of my closest friends pedaling through deserts, mountains, cities, and everything in between. We will sleep in schools, homes, campsites, anything that's free. The ride is the eye catcher but the most important part of Texas 4000 is what we do when we are off our bike. As a team, we raise money for cancer research and give programs throughout the ride spreading the latest information in cancer prevention and research. I will be trying to post pictures, videos, daily comments on this blog, but I will also be updating my journal on www.texas4000.org.

Day 36 rest day in Davis: Volunteering for LIVESTRONG

Today we were volunteering at the Davis LIVESTRONG challenge. We meet so many inspiring people who are also dedicated to kicking some serious cancer butt.
After a day full of registering and cow bell ringing we went to a dinner with some of the VIPs (included a one Lance Armstrong). Our very own Ryan and Kylee were chosen to speak, we were very proud of them!

That may or may not be Lance Armstrong's seat...
